Darts
The Darts game rewards consistency in stroke rate and power output. You get 300 darts to 'throw' in a game and your score is calculated just like a real game of darts. Whether you are a new rower trying to learn how to be consistent or an experienced rower working to get comfortable at a new pace, the Darts game is a terrific tool for you.
How To Get
The Darts game is available for PM4s only and is automatically included in all PM4s running PM4 Firmware Version 21 (released November 2007) or later. If you have an older PM4 and would like the Darts game, you need to upgrade to the latest version of PM4 Firmware, which you can download free.
How to Play
To access the Darts game:
- On the PM4 Main Menu, select Games
- On the Games menu, select Darts
For each game, you get 300 darts to "throw" at the target. The object of the game is to accrue as many points as possible. The number of points earned depends on where each dart hits the target:
- Bull's eyes are worth 50 points each.
- The next three rings out from the bull's eye are worth 25, 10, and 5 points, respectively.
At the beginning of each game, before scoring begins, you will be asked to row five strokes. This sets your pace and stroke rate for the first few darts; thereafter, your target pace and stroke rate will be based on your recent strokes. If you quicken your pace and stroke rate during the game, your dart will fly high of the target; if you slow your pace and stroke rate, your dart will fly low, and so on. Hit the bull's eye by rowing at a constant pace and stroke rate. A perfect game is 15000 points.
