Megan Jephcote decided at the age of ten to try a new sport. She had previously tried a variety of different activities but wanted a new challenge.

In October 2008 Megan joined the Ross Rowing Junior Academy. She enjoyed the on-water training and took part in the the Welsh National Indoor Rowing Championships in December 2008. Megan very much enjoyed the event and was lucky enough to come away with a bronze medal.

Over Christmas in 2008 Megan asked if she could spend some of her present money on going to the Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships in Jan 2009. We were rewarded for our long car journey to Edinburgh with a bronze medal. Since then Megan has travelled the country competing on the Concept2 and has picked up medals at every event she has taken part in. She wants to enter as many events as possible and is even planning a trip to the European Championships in Paris in 2011.

Megan who is from the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire gets a real buzz from racing and finds that using the indoor rowing machine keeps her in very good shape and gives her self-confidence a boost which all helps with the growing up process.

This year Megan has been asked to go to her old primary school in June during healthy-living week to demonstrate indoor rowing to the year 6 pupils and to show off all of her medals.
