e007, e008, e003 - Serious fault with micro-processor - Probable cause is a battery leak.
e011 - Low power condition - Probable cause is a dying battery
Check the battery contacts:
- Are they complete or has any one of them broken?
- Is there any corrosion or battery leakage on them?
- Is there any missing completely?
Check the circuit board for any corrosion:
- Has the battery leaked over any components?
- Is the inside slightly damp?
- Can you see any moisture on the inside casing?
Check the components:
- Have any of the legs snapped off the crystal oscillator?
- Has the diode D9 (or D6 on some boards) broken off?
Check the keypad:
- Is the keypad really worn, (usually a good indicator as to how much use the monitor has had)?
Has all of the above has failed to cure the problem?
Check the LCD:
- Are the contacts along the edge of the LCD in tact or is any part of it cracked?
- Is the LCD the correct orientation?
- Is the correct LCD in place?
Check the Case Front:
- Are the circuit board screw threads in tact?
Has all of the above has failed to cure the problem?
Check the legs of the jack socket:
- Is there any lateral movement on the jack socket?
- Are the legs corroded with battery leakage or rust?
Has all of the above has failed to cure the problem?
