Woodvale Challenge 2011

Tom Fitzsimons' Team Drying Out are planning to take part in the Woodvale Challange 2011. This, as you maybe aware, is a 3000 mile race across the Atlantic Ocean in a 23ft ocean rowing boat.
Tom's reason for taking on this challenge is to raise awareness of recovery from addiction (alcohol addiction in his case). Tom has been sober since August 2007 and in this time has lost five stone in weight, trained as a personal trainer and completed twenty three marathons. He has also completed a number of ultra marathons most notably the Marathon des Sables (see above) in 2010 along side Mr James Cracknell ("I let him beat me").
Tom's main aim is to show people who are struggling from day to day that there is another way. By rowing the Atlantic he hopes to give an alcoholic or drug addict inspiration to have at least one day sober or drug free.
Tom's rowing partner is Jamile Siddique who is an Ultra Runner who has completed the Namibian Ultra and is also taking part in this year Marathon des Sables.
As you can imagine the cost involved are high. Team Drying Out are hoping to raise £70k to support their row and would be very grateful for any help, their website is www.dryingout.org.
