Windsor Boys School Boat Club - 48 hour challenge update
Posted by Concept2 News on the 23rd of January 2012
The Windsor Boys' School Boat Club held a 48 Hour Ergo Challenge to raise money for for ourselves and also the 'Everyman' charity. The money raised has been split between us and 'Everyman'. We did a 48 hour ergo challenge, the event took place from the 22 of December and finished on Christmas Eve, the 24 of December. The ergo was placed in the centre of Windsor's shopping centre, by Windsor and Eton central train station.
We managed to raise a grand total of £4,000 thanks to the generous donations of passers by, local businesses and sponsorship of the boys. Hopefully the link to the video below will give you a flavour of what the event was like. Come the final few strokes of the challenge the atmosphere in Windsor was electric and the boys took many a well earned pat on the back.
We had a couple of special visitors to the event. Adam Freeman-Pask opened the event with an encouraging message to the boys and our other special visitor.........well, let's just say his big red suit may have affected his ergo technique a little.
