President of the newly formed Nottingham Rowing Club, Keith Atkinson spoke to a relaxed meeting of the Rotary Club of Trent Bridge at the Country Cottage in Ruddington on August 23rd.
He explained that pupils who can’t catch, kick or strike a ball are better off using an Indoor Rowing machine than practicing skills they do not have. He outlined the rapid growth of the sport in Birmingham, Cardiff and Nottingham and said that they would soon be joined by the schools in Rushcliffe.
He thanked members of the Trent Bridge Rotary for the purchase of a specially adapted machine for use by pupils at Ash Lea School in Cotgrave.
