Siemens Stroke for Stroke Week
Posted by Concept2 News on the 23rd of October 2007
The Stroke Association has teamed up with Siemens, the high performance partner of GB Rowing, for the first ever Siemens Stroke for Stroke Week, from 3 - 9 December 2007.
They are asking people to sign up to row a 10km section of the round the world distance and get sponsorship for doing it. If they can get 4,000 supporters to row 10km each, then they will have rowed the 40,000 km, once around the whole world.
Olympic rower and campaign ambassador James Cracknell MBE said: “I am delighted to be supporting Stroke for Stroke Week. Rowing is a great choice of exercise and completing a 10km row over the course of the week will be a perfect starting point for people to realise the health benefits rowing can bring, plus it will provide vital funds for The Stroke Association.”
