Shropshire Physical Education Conference

Posted by Concept2 News on the 4th of June 2007

Simon Larkin and Keith Atkinson, from the Concept2 Education Team attended the Shropshire Physical Education Conference held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on the 25th of May, 2007.

The conference was attended by nearly 100 delegates who heard David Morley of Carnegie-Leeds Met University talk about “Challenging gifted and talented pupils.”

He stressed that talent should be developed in PE lessons rather than in extra-curricular sport because lessons “are able to provide for all pupils irrespective of gender, ethnicity or socio-economic background”

The Concept2 three basic tests—Maximum Pull, 20secs anaerobic, and 2mins aerobic are excellent indicators of talent in years 6 and 7
