ROWvember for Movember
Posted by Sam Granville on the 7th of November 2012
Are you surrounded by bristles, 'fluff', or even full on handlebar mo's?
Do you have 'mo' envy, not that you want to grow a 'slug' above your lip but you want to get involved & help raise money for charity?
Well ladies, girls, boys (& even those gentleman that choose not to grow) here is your chance...
We were contacted yesterday by indoor rowing enthusiast Chris Arden, Chris told us that he came up with a great idea a couple of years ago to help raise awareness of Movember & the prostate cancer charities.
Along with growing his mo for http://uk.movember.com/ Chris has been aiming to make Movember his 'big rowing' month. Last year he averaged 10k every day, his total was 300k for the month! So far this month he has already completed 91k.
We were really pleased to hear from Chris that the Concept2 rowing machine is the only piece of gym equipment that he uses & he's been a Concept2 fan for the last 20 years. We know we are already in November (& next year we'll start ROWvember from 1st November) but if you would like to join Chris & raise the profile of ROWvember, then get rowing & log your distance on the challenge series http://therowingcompany.com/challengeseries/
So don't feel left out, you can still join in ROWvember. Don't forget to log your distances & donate any money that you raise to your chosen charity or even Children in Need. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008dk4b/features/cin-donate
