An aspiring 2012 paralympic rower is set to be put to the test on a Concept2 rowing machine in preparation for this week's trials.
Londoner Ryan Chamberlain is planning on breaking into the national squad after losing his foot in a car crash.
He will try out for around 18 sports, although his physiotherapist believes the 6ft 5in is ideally suited to rowing, reports the Evening Standard.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Chamberlain is looking forward to the opportunity to represent his country at the games.
He said: "It would be fantastic to pull on a Great Britain shirt and compete in front of a home crowd at the Paralympics and maybe even win a medal.
"I'm aware that it would take a huge effort but I'm ready for the challenge - I'm passionate about sport."
The minimum selection criteria for the Paralympic Potential Days (PPDs) at Brunel University require trialists to be aged between 13 and 38 years old and involved in regular physical activity.
