Powerband/LTA Racing Team go 1, 2, 3 in the final Redbull standings
The last round of 2012 Redbull Nationals concluded at Culham Motopark at the weekend which saw some epic racing in very wet and tricky conditions. Powerband Racing 65cc top duo Tom Grimshaw & Christopher Mills produced some nail biting moments throughout the weekend, but it all came down to the last Moto of the championship when Tom was able to ride through the difficult condition to clinch the race win & championship from Christopher who experienced some bike problems 3 laps from the end and was then unable to continue. Both boys have had their difficulties this year, and have both shared a DNF each which made for some tense and exciting moments throughout the year.
Powerband other star rider SW85cc George Grigg Pettitt finished off a great second half of the season by clinching 3rd overall in one of the most competitive classes. George really showed some great speed by topping qualification and producing some great rides throughout the weekend to nail 3rd overall i the championship.

How did we achieve these results? Throughout the 2012 season we have been experimenting with the use of a concept 2 rower and just how effective a full body warm up is in the sport of motocross. My riders have all been using a concept 2 rower as the main core of their workout plan, if they are not with me they use one in the gym as concept 2 can be found in nearly all gyms here in the UK, When a rider comes to train with me we combine fitness with on bike technique training and having use of a rower has allowed me to take the equipment to the track and do something unique, a mobile gym as it were. A rower has so many benefits to a Motocross racer and is the ultimate cardio and strength endurance machine. We also take the rower to each round of the national races, where all my supported riders can warm up in the correct way, I found spin bikes to be good but nothing beats the all-round body warm up of a rower. I have been trying to gain exposure of the benefits of using a rower at the races for a warm up and even allowing other riders to use the machine. For the 2013 season I want to go from experiment to a solid programme and hopefully with the continued support from concept 2 we have Redbull MX2 champion Neville Bradshaw wanting to be involved and have use of the rower, also GP riders Max Anstie and Jordan Booker are joining the Mx rowing revolution! We also have interest from the leading dirt bike magazine to do a feature on what we have been doing.
I would like to say a massive thanks to Concept 2 for their support and hope to build on what has been achieved this season...
