Katy Hill - No Pain, No Gain

Following her recent training on the Concept2; Katy Hill kindly let us know how she got on with the indoor rowing machine-
"Earlier on this year I was fortunate enough to be loaned a Concept2 rowing machine to incorporate within my fitness regime.
Being a full time working mum I have found it extremely difficult to fit regular training in. I was excited when I received my Indoor Concept2 Rower as I was able to train at the same time as keeping an eye on my kids. It finally meant I could train consistently and I was seeing much improved results.
About the time that I received the Concept2 rowing machine I was fortunate enough to visit Bisham Abbey Training ground where they train the UK's top athletes. It felt quite a weird head switch to do the school drop and then go straight to a gym, surrounded by Olympians!
I got some rowing tips from Olympic Medalist Katherine Grainger - just about the nicest woman you'd ever meet. We compared callouses on our hands, and I told her how I'd opted for gloves since my callouses were making those scratchy noises on the kids' clothes when I rubbed their backs - bringing back memories of my mum's hands on my back as a kid! Katherine's hands are literally covered in callouses from rowing - no pain, no gain I guess! Perhaps that's why she'll be up for an Olympic medal this summer.
During my training on the Concept2 I was starting to get muscles in places I didn't know possible. It was also doing a good job on my arms. Thanks Concept2, it's a great machine to exercise on."
