Indoor Rowing Introduced To The Junior Blind Olympics
Posted by Concept2 News on the 23rd of May 2007
The Junior Blind Olympics took place at April 21st in Los Angeles and, thanks to United States adaptive team member Aerial Gilbert, indoor rowing was one of the featured sports.
Gilbert, completely blind herself, took two indoor rowing machines to last year's event and piqued the interest of the organisers. This year, armed with six Indoor Rowers and the help of former Olympic gold medallist Xeno Mueller, Gilbert helped attract over 200 blind and visually impaired youth to try rowing.
