Indoor Rowing for Welsh communities

The secret is out. Have you wondered how Santa develops his stamina every year for that demanding schedule delivering all those presents? Well, here’s the answer and there are no surprises that he trains on the Indoor Rower! He was spotted at St. Margaret’s Church Hall, Aberaman in the Rhonnda Canon Taf, South East Wales, during their Christmas Fayre.
Throughout the day the children’s brass band played a selection of carols, the bring and buy stalls did a brisk trade and a cross section of the neighbourhood had a go on the Indoor Rowers. Youngsters from seven years old upwards tried rowing, played the ever popular Fish Game, going for the maximum metres in the 1 minute row and teenagers organised themselves into teams for a relay challenge race. Amongst the adults rowing there were a wide range of ages and even a three generation family that had a go rowing for the first time. Overall, the Indoor Rowers went down a storm.
The Fayre was seen as the perfect opportunity to showcase the Concept2 machines and now Father David is keen to introduce indoor rowing and make them available for all. There are many groups that use the Hall for their activities and meetings but there’s capacity for more. So with the Church central to society, indoor rowing is seen as a valuable additional opportunity that can provide activity for everyone and work alongside and support current initiatives or community projects in health, education and sport specifically for Wales.
