A Scarborough indoor rower has won gold at the British Indoor Rowing Championship.
The 67-year-old beat off national competition at the event in Birmingham, the Scarborough Evening News reports.
Sheila Carlisle goes to the gym every day as part of her fitness training and rowed to gold in the heavyweight section.
"Going on the rowing machine is one of the exercises I do at the gym, so taking it a step further to compete in the championships was a natural progression," she told the news provider.
Ms Carlisle was awarded the medal for completing a two km row in the quickest time, building on her success at the event two years ago when she walked away with a silver medal.
The British Indoor Rowing Championship has been taking place for nearly two decades and is the world's biggest indoor rowing event, with more than 2,000 entrants this year.
