Concept2 Ambassador Sophie Hosking open Durham rowing tank

Posted by Concept2 News on the 15th of November 2012

Olympic gold medallist & Concept2 Ambassador Sophie Hosking returned to Durham University recently to help inspire the next generation of student rowers.

Following her Olympic success alongside partner Kat Copeland during London 2012, the 26-year-old, who studied Chemistry and Physics at the University five years ago, has had the indoor rowing tank named after her.

Whilst at the university she shared tips with students and youngsters from local schools as the university revealed its new indoor powered rowing tank, named in her honour.

The Sophie Hosking Rowing Tank - which is one of only three in the country and part of the London 2012 sporting legacy - will help other young people in the city to follow Sophie's oar strokes.

We watched the video & were pleased to see all of the Concept2 indoor rowers placed around the tank too.
