Staff from a South Yorkshire car dealership have managed to raise £1,200 for a cancer charity after completing some indoor rowing challenges.
The Mercedes-Benz and Porsche dealership mounted rowing machines to support Macmillan Cancer Support, but also as a precursor to a world record attempt by two of its staff.
Both Alex Macdonald and Luke Grose have been training on indoor rowers in preparation for their attempt to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in December.
Speaking to the Wakefield Express ahead of the event last weekend, chief executive of the JCT600 car dealership John Tordoff said: "We hope local people will join us at our Wakefield event and that the whole of Yorkshire will get behind the rowers in their quest to bring home the world record and raise a huge amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support."
Meanwhile, Dave Holby is attempting to set a new world record by 'virtually' rowing around the world on an indoor rowing machine outside a shopping centre.
