Amy McLernon - Biggest Loser runner up

My name is Amy Mac I was runner up in the final on this year's The Biggest Loser on ITV. I lost 6 stone 3lbs dropping from 19st to 12 stone 11lbs. It's been just over a year since we started filming for the show, and WOW what a year it has been!!!
Since the final in March I have done so much, I've done things I never thought I would even consider, like running 13 miles! I did the Great North Run this year alongside my lovely Uncle Kevin who I was on the show with! The run marked the one year anniversary since we started our journey on The Biggest Loser and let me tell you what a great way to celebrate losing all this weight! The run was amazing, everyone was buzzing, the atmosphere was insane & I'm definitely doing it again next year, no doubt about it. I also met Arg from 'The Only Way Is Essex' which I love so that was pretty cool! Throughout the run myself and Kevin got loads of support from people who were watching alongside the road, that gave me great motivation to carry on.
My advice to anyone thinking about doing a Great Run is do it, you will get such a sense of achievement whether you walk or run. I have also qualified as a gym instructor and I am now getting ready to sit my exams for level three personal training. This is all pretty exciting, if I could tell the old me what I would be doing now I don't think she would believe me!
Being on the show has taught me how to love exercise and how to cook and eat clean with it tasting really good! Before the show I always thought healthy food meant BORING food but that just isn't the case at all!
I am so excited to get out there and help people change their lives like I have completely changed mine! So I recently started an online weight loss programme designed for women with 3 or more stone to lose! I have called this my Dirty Little Secret Club simply because I have a dirty little DIET secret that no one else has... But to find that out you have to be a member of the club SORRY! I recently went on a lovely family holiday with my boyfriend and little boy! That was amazing just to be able to go in the pool with my son without feeling scared of how I looked! I always wanted to take him swimming but never had the confidence! So this for me was like a dream come true! Before my holiday I did some intense training on my concept 2 rowing machine! I can't say how much I LOVE this piece of equipment. I do interval training which is usually 5 minute warm up followed by 20 minutes of 1 minute steady state and 30 second sprint intervals and I'm not going to lie I play the games on it too! My son always tries to copy what I have done when I come off he's only 2 but hey he can row!!!
I also have a ski-erg which I do interval training on and let me tell you I thought it would be easy but it's not but I love a challenge and the ski-erg challenges me every time!
I have lost weight since the show thanks to the Concept2 equipment! It's so easy having it at home! No excuses!
