12-hour Rowathlon for Cancer Research UK

A massive well done and congratulations to Mary Barlow for organising a 12-hour Rowathlon in aid of Cancer Research UK using Concept2 Indoor Rowers.
Mary invited several members of her local community and East Worlington Primary School to row non stop from 6am until 6pm which took place on Saturday September 15th in Witheridge Square Devon and the aim was to raise £1000 for Cancer Research UK with participants each receiving a t-shirt and water bottle for their efforts.
On the morning of the event Mary began to setup the 3 Model D indoor rowers and said "We were so lucky with the weather although chilly at 4.30am on the set up, I think the 6am rowers were keen to get going with the evening rowers bathed in sunshine and not a drop of water around!
After the event Mary went on to say "The 12 hour Rowathon was a HUGE success, Witheridge Square (Devon) was most definitely transformed to "Dorney Reach" with all participants feeling they had achieved their gold medal whilst raising money for such a worthy cause, with an initial goal of £1000 the target SMASHED."
In total 258 miles were rowed non stop, 80 people, old and young took part in the row and some had never even sat on a indoor rower, it created a fantastic community spirit and a massive £2700 was the final figure raised for Cancer Research UK.
